Gladstone LNG (Queensland, Australia)

Gladstone LNG is one of three huge LNG Liquefaction plants built on Curtis Island, Queensland, Australia. This project converts Queensland’s coal seam gas to LNG.

The plant is owned by Santos, Petronas (Malaysia), Total (France), and KOGAS (South Korea) and has a capacity of 7.8 MTA. Santos has been producing natural gas in Queensland for more than 50 years and gas from coal seams for more than 16 years.

Bechtel awarded the insulation management contract to I&I Soft Craft Solutions due to our strong resume providing these services worldwide, including several previous overseas projects.

The scope included providing technical support and material take-offs, scheduling material supply and managing logistics to meet project schedules.

I&I Soft Craft Solutions manufactured materials off-site and provided a local warehouse and fabrication facility to support the project. We trained the insulators to install LNG Insulation, provided quality inspection services and helped supervise the planning of the work.

To effectively coordinate our activities with Bechtel, our staff maintained offices at the Gladstone LNG site on Curtis Island. Our warehouse and fabrication shops were located on the mainland at Callemondah, Queensland. This project lasted two years and was valued at $19,000,000.
