Marathon Petroleum’s Expansion in Garyville, LA (GME)

Results

Marathon Petroleum’s Expansion in Garyville, Louisiana (GME) , lasting over 31-months with a final cost totaling $4 billion, was one of the largest undertakings of its kind to be constructed in the United States. The expansion increased the crude oil production capacity of the refinery to 436,000 barrels per day, up from 256,000 before the project. The enormous size of the project made it a large challenge for any company contracted to work on the expansion.

Insulations, Inc. was awarded steam tracing, contro tracing, insulation, painting and fireproofing on the Marathon Petroleum’s Garyville Expansion. We peaked out at 1283 craft employees on site. We personally performed over 1 million man hours with an excellent safety record.
